Intro
Everything is based on the major, minor, and diminished versions of the DFA shapes
To keep this basic:
- Major is Do based
- Minor is La based
- Diminished is Ti based
But Again, WHATS THE POINT?: Practicing Melting Exercises
Each of these chords is 'frozen'. That is, the notes are static.
To 'melt' a chord or 'unfreeze it', is to play each note individual up and down the chord shape, without actually having the chord shape on your hand.
That is, 'melting' an F chord for example, is playing this:

Individually: 1, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1, without holding your hand in the F bar chord shape. But, using you index, middle, ring, and pinky to play each note individually on the left hand.
These exercises may be even more important than your regular scales as they will ingrain you hand with speed, dexterity, and the intervals between notes.
Until your thoughts and ear are an extension of your reflexes.
Again, melting exercises should be practices for both the left and right side of the chord.
